Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-26-draft; effective 2026-10-26.
Fairmont3d is a 3D print shop. To quote and print your parts we need a few things about you and the files you send. This page says what we collect, who processes it, how long we keep it and what you can ask of us.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and name, from the sign-in provider (Clerk), and the choices you make in the app (addresses, email preferences, the consents you give).
- Files: the STL files you upload, the geometry we compute from them (size, volume, surface area) and preview images of them.
- Orders: what you asked for (material, colour, quantity, notes), the prices we quoted and confirmed, shipping addresses, and the status history of each order.
- Payment metadata: invoice numbers, amounts, dates and payment status from Stripe. Card and bank details never reach our servers; Stripe holds them.
- Technical records: the time, internet address and browser of a consent you give (so we can prove it), and server logs kept for security.
Why we use it
To run your account, quote and print your parts, invoice you, ship or hand over the parts, answer your questions, and meet our legal obligations (invoices and tax records). We send you emails about your quotes and orders because the work needs them; we send news or offers only if you opt in, and you can opt out any time.
We do not sell your data, show advertising, or share your files with anyone outside the shop and the processors below.
Who processes it for us
- Clerk (sign-in): email, name, sign-in session.
- Stripe (invoices and payments): name, email, billing address, payment method, invoice amounts.
- Amazon Web Services (hosting, file storage, database, email delivery): everything the app stores, in the United States.
Each one is bound by its own privacy terms and only handles what it needs for its job. The full list, with what each receives, is kept in our third-party register.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded files: until the order is complete plus 90 days, unless you keep them in your account for reprints. You can delete a file yourself at any time.
- Invoices and payment records: 7 years, as tax law requires, with your name removed once your account is deleted.
- Account and order history: while your account exists, then deleted or anonymised as described below.
- Consent records: as long as we rely on them, so we can show what you agreed to and when.
Your rights
You can see and correct your details in your account. You can ask for a copy of your data, or for its deletion, from Account: a deletion request removes your sign-in, your files, addresses and quotes within 30 days, and keeps only the anonymised invoices the law requires. If you live somewhere that gives you further rights (for example to restrict or object to processing, or to complain to a supervisory authority), we honour those too.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to let Stripe detect fraud on its payment pages. There is no analytics or advertising cookie. The Cookie Policy lists them.
Changes and contact
When this policy changes in a way that matters, we raise its version and ask you to read it again the next time you sign in. Questions go to support@fairmont3d.com or by post to Red Anvil Tech, Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
